today i will be talking about the predator of the skies -- the eagle
how can we differentiate an eagle from the normal bird?
well, firstly, let me show you a picture of an eagle. its on the left.
eagles are differentiated from many other birds of prey mainly by their larger size, more powerful build, and heavier head and beak.
they can fly higher, further and for a longer period time than any bird.
it has a sharp beak and sharp talons, which are not only sharp, but also strong. they also have relatively longer and more evenly broad wings, and more direct, faster flight to sweep down on unsuspecting prey.
have a look at the video below. firstly, spot the height at which the eagle is flying at. next. notice how fast the eagle swoops down to catch its prey. enjoy ^^
from this, we can see how powerful and swift the eagle is.
fun fact
1)there are more than 60 breeds of eagles!!
2) did you know that after a period of 50 years, the eagle can remove all its claws, beak and pluck out all its feathers (in an excruciating period of 100 days) just to live for another 50 years?
